CODE of CONDUCT POLICY

This code of conduct sets out the behaviour expected of all Club members and visitors at Guavate Puerto Rican Eatery & Bistro a Members Only Club & Restaurant (the Club) premises.

IDENTIFICATION: Once receive members shall present their current, signed membership card to the Club Receptionist when entering the Club.  Please note that membership cards are not transferable.


General requirements All Members and Visitors at the Club:

  1. Shall follow all instructions for registration requirerments given by Club Guavate Management and staff.

  2. All members ( over 18 years ) must provide full name,first and last, and at least one form of contact information before entering. A photoID may be asked if member's identity is not personaly known by management. 

  3. Members are expected to provide truthful ID information, In the event information is falsified or withheld membership may be denied at any point in time.

  4. Photo ID for alcohol service must be provided at any time when asked.

  5.  Shall not behave in any way that will damage the reputation of  Club Guavate as a family-friendly environment, either verbally or through social media.

  6. Shall not disturb other guest and will follow management's directives regarding what constitues disturbing, including but not limited to making negative comments to, about or around other guest. Negative attitudes or  comments to or about service, servers, food or any comments relating to or not relating to Guavate establishment, policies, staff or owners that disturb the experience for which the guest came to Guavate. 

  7. Shall not make unsolicited negative comments to any other members or their guest regarding, preferrences, culture, physical appearance, age, gender, race , religion, politics. Simply do not be mean or share your judgements about ANY others, in any way in which they can see or hear you, including at a later time on social media. As the saying goes. if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. .

IDENTIFICATION: 

When requested, guests must present proof of age for the purchase of alcoholic beverages. Acceptable proof of age being Passport, Drivers Licence, FL Issues Id card or Proof of Age Card.

GUESTS:

a) There may a restriction of two guests that may be invited to the Club, not including minors.  However, permissin may be received for additional  persons. Club member guest must be signed in and vouched for by a member of the Club, who shall be responsible for the behaviour of their guests whilst they are in the Club and its precincts.  

b) Persons under 18 years of age may only be permitted entry to designated areas  for the purpose of dining or attending special events and must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

c) Function guests are those persons attending a specific or private function being held on the premises of Guavate when prior arrangements shall have been made with the Owner or the Operations Manager. (Please see functions packages for further details.)

Conduct all members are expected to conduct themselves with respectful mature manners.

  1. Attitudes and communication towards staff and owners should not be rude, demanding , irrational or  insulting.

  2. Groups will not bully, harass or have a general superior attitude towards servers , even in silence.

  3. Understand, shouting or raised voices , (of course,except in fun and celebrations) may be perceived a threatening. 

  4. Profanities are not acceptable and will not be toolerated towards staff or in range of children at other tables.

  5. Members may not REFUSE to pay for purchases. Guavate is egar to remove charges for legitimate errors or dissatisfaction.

  6. Members may not REFUSE to pay gratuity added to parties of 6 or larger. Gratitiy included is common practice and is part of your bill. You will find this policy stated on the menu..

  7. Understand the police will be called for refusal to pay part of your bill unless management removes it from your bill.

  8. Any known slander or libel against the establishment will  be interpreted as a desire to end ones membership from the club.

  9. All problems, concerns or complaints should be addressed directly respectfully to management,not indirectly via social media. 

  10. A tip/comment box provided and all comments will be read by management. 

  11. Members may not make demands for special requirerments or behaviors by servers. 

  12. Members may not expect to consume substantion portions of products and only after, ask for discounts or removal from bills. 

  13. Members may not make request for food items to be made repeatedly due to preparation or presentation preferences. Guavate has it's own recipes and styles of presentation. 

  14. Members may not make custom rules or unreasonable request for servers and demand they be followed. ( example of inappropriate  guest request ; stated to server: I want a glass of wine.  You are to bring the wine bottle to the table and open it in front of me. ) this is not our practice, not how it is typically done, unless you purchase a bottle( Guavate does not specialize in bottle service.) Such demands are considered an unreasonable request and deemed as inappropriate behavior.

  15. Temper tantrums are welcome from children but not acceptable behavior by adults. 

  16. Are required to behave in a manner conducive to the enjoyment of the Club’s facilities for all persons. Obscene and or offensive language or behavior will not be tolerated.

  17. Reservations can be made by calling or online, but members may not arrive with more individuals that the reservation included.

  18. Individual table reservations for small groups, may not arrive together and combine mutiple small reservation expecting to be sat as one large group. Example, you,your sister and your mother may not each call and make individual table reservations for 6 and upon arrival state you have a reservation for 18 people and expect to be sat together. In this industry 3 tables of 6, sat at the same time require very different resources than 1 table of 18.

  19. All social groups entering Club Guavate must have made prior arrangemnts for a venue event with owner verification and should ensure that its members are members of the Club.

  20.  All social groups reserving Club Guavate should ensure compliance with this code of conduct by managing the behavior of all within their group.

  21.  Any person or Group found to have damaged Guavate's property will be held accountable for the repair or replacement.

  22. Children should not be allowed to destroy, damage or remove any decorations, including scratching table tops. Parents should keep toy cars or other toys off table tops.

Alcohol

​

  1.  Shall not provide anyone under 21 , even if it is your child, alcohol. 

  2.  Shall not partake of or induce any other person to partake of any illicit drugs on the premises. 

  3. Shall always uphold the Club’s dress code.* see code below

  4.  Shall adhere to the Responsible Consumption of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of  initiatives followed by the Club.

  5. Shall only consume and will contain  alcohol within the ‘’ areas defined as Guavate. Alcohol is not to be taken into Tower Lobby or anywhere outside of restaurant/club.

 Membership revocation and/or Removal of Persons from the Club Premises. Removal of Persons from the Club Premises will be assisted by police.

​

  • In the owner’s absence the senior team member or of the Club on duty, has the power to suspend any member’s membership and remove that member from the premises of the Guavate:

  • a) who in the opinion of the manager is becoming intoxicated, or is violent, quarrelsome or indecent, or whose presence on the premises puts others at risk. 

    b) who removes items without paying for, or who leaves without paying for any goods

    c) who, within the meaning of the Smoke-free Environment Act, smokes while on any part of the premises that is smoke-free

    d) who uses, or has in his or her possession, while on the premises of the Club any substance that the managment suspects of being a prohibited drug or prohibited plant or substance; and


  • e) whom the Club, under the conditions of its licence, or a term of a liquor accord, is authorized or required to refuse access to the Club.

  •  

    f) Weapons; Unauthorized or deadly weapons are not permitted

     
    Dress Code (Front Door)  Dress regulations apply to all members and guests entering club premises. •• No bare feet • No offensive slogans/logos with profanity.
  1.  
    BEHAVIOUR: In order to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all members of the Club and their guests, no person shall create any undue noise or disturbance within the Club premises, precincts, carpark or nearby streets.
    All members and their guests and other visitors to the Guavate shall abide by the Liquor Laws, and when considered appropriate, may be refused service, and requested to leave.  
    Refusal to comply with such a request will result in further action being taken.
    The use of foul or abusive language whilst in the Club will not be tolerated.  
    Any member or guest requested to leave the Club by a Staff Member, shall do so immediately and without undue disturbance.  Failure to do so may result in suspension of membership.
    Management always reserves the right to bar entry or remove members or guests from the Guavate whose behaviour is deemed improper. The police will be asked for assitance if help is needed.
     
    COMPLAINTS: Members shall address any complaints regarding Club matters to the Manager on Duty at the time, as soon as possible.
     
    STAFF: Members and their guests are expected to be always polite and co-operative towards Club staff.  Members are requested that any complaints regarding Staff are to be put in writing and addressed to the owner.

  1.  At no time should members verbally harass or abuse staff regarding a complaint, either in person or through the social mediia. 

  2. Photos or videos may not be taken of staff, managment,owner or guest without their express permission. 

  3. Photos or videos taken may never be posted with derogitry commments on any online platform, The presence of staff does not give anyone permission or justification to take pictures of Guavate's team for abusive purposes, nor are images of Guavate, its team or members to be uses for personal posting or advertising purposes.

  4. . Shall not partake of or induce any other person to partake of any illicit drugs on the premises. 

  5. Shall adhere to the Responsible Consumption of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of  initiatives followed by the Club.

  10.  Any person or Group found to have damaged Guavate's property will be held accountable for the repair and or reparation of such damage.


Note: Club Guavate Management reserves the right to refuse entry or revoke membership to any person, at its sole discretion.  All decisions are final in all matters relating to club policy, dress and behavior. Failure to comply with any of the above may be deemed as a breach of the Code of Conduct. In the event of a breach by a member or visitor, the Club reserves the right to revoke membership. 

Acceptance : Members and visitors will be deemed to have accepted this Code of Conduct by attending the Club’s premises and may refer to Code  for their own reference. 


Any member conduct that does not adhere to policies will be seen as a wish to disregard membership.

Anyone for any reason has the right to disagree with our membership policies and patronize the wide variety of other establishments that do not operate under a membership policy.
